Capturing love like this in an image is what it is all about for me. This is a Mother, Life, and watching her daughter get married. I feel her love in my heart and I'm glad I could see it and record it for them.

A Fathers love is so special too

I arrived a little early and the guys were swimming. I instantly knew it was going to be a great day!

This is the "shoe game" and it really is a lot of fun!

again...to capture love in an image is special
Stephen is originally from Dublin, Ireland but when he and Jennifer first contacted me they were living in Auckland, New Zealand. They met in Tampa at a restaurant they both worked at while attending college. Both of Jenn’s parents were born and raised in Buffalo and the majority of her family still live there, so it was an easy choice for them to decide to host the wedding there.
This wedding was the second of two back-to-back weddings, two days in a row in Buffalo for me. I hardly ever take on two weddings in the same weekend, but after checking with both couples it seemed like it could be done. Still it is an intense amount of preparation, planning, and work to shoot for two days at one wedding and then start all over again at another wedding with all different families. Of course I want to do the best job possible for both weddings so I have to turn the first one off at some point (usually around 3:00 in the morning) and then turn the second one on. It kind of reminds me of when I was at R.I.T. and I had several huge exams at the end of the semester. I would prepare for all of them at the same time but there would finally come a point when I had to focus strictly on the one at hand and not concern myself with the others until it was their turn. Weddings work the same way except you wake up physically drained after the first one as well as mentally drained. It isn’t something I would recommend doing without preparation, especially when the temperature is going to be mid 90’s for both. I actually increase my workouts to get ready for the challenge, and it is definitely rewarding to walk away with a great body of work from both of them. Of course it helps when the couples are as attractive, receptive, and friendly to work with as Stephen & Jenn, and Thi & Ken. Once again I was immediately accepted and made to feel part of the group. This is very much appreciated and I can’t thank everyone enough.
Kloc’s Grove in West Seneca is a wonderful place for a wedding. It was a beautiful open-air ceremony and reception. The wait staff was excellent, and it was a gorgeous day and night. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are having a wedding in the area.
This was the second time I have seen the “Shoe Game” played at a wedding. It was a huge hit both times with the guests, and everyone really had a lot of fun. The bride and groom take off their shoes and sit back-to-back with a different shoe in each hand (I included a photo above so you can see what I mean). Someone then asks the couple questions and they have to raise the shoe of the person you is most likely to do what the question is about. It really is a ton of fun, and something I would consider doing at a wedding.
I asked Stephen if he wanted to write anything for the blog post and that is included below. Thank you again to everyone. I wish you true love and happiness on your journey together.
Stephen and Jennifer came from two completely different backgrounds. Stephen was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and Jennifer came from a military family that was constantly moving around. It was great to see the merging of two family backgrounds, the Irish and the Polish.
Last year, Stephen and Jennifer embarked on a journey to New Zealand. They spent their time working and traveling around. It was here that Stephen proposed, so it was important to the couple to incorporate a New Zealand theme into the wedding. All of the flowers had fiddlehead ferns, New Zealand’s native symbol. The wedding toppers consisted of photos that Stephen took on their overseas adventures. The Paua shells were brought back from New Zealand specifically for this occasion and they even had a specialty cocktail that could be served non-alcoholic. It was called the “Kiwi Cooler” and was just another way the couple could share their experiences with their guests.
Jennifer wore a beautiful gown by Maggie Sottero with beading on the straps. She also wore gorgeous beaded flower pins in her hair that were designed and handmade by Jen Doyle in Ireland, specifically for Jennifer’s wedding.
The beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception was held at Kloc’s Crove in West Seneca. Preparations wouldn’t have been complete without the help of Kevin Buisch, the banquet Manager. All the food served that night came from Mrs. Kloc’s homemade recipes.
The flowers were delivered fresh by Maureen’s a florist in downtown Buffalo. She was able to create masterpieces of the bridal bouquets, groomsmen’s boutonnières and the centerpieces on the tables.
Village Desserts of Williamsville brought in the cake. It was a chocolate cake with a layer of strawberry filling, topped off with a butter cream icing.
The DJ, Norman Weiler, was keeping everyone on their toes by mixing up songs between the famous polish tradition of the “oczepiny” and the newly weds “shoe game.”
Hope this helps! Thanks again for everything Frank! Your pictures have always amazed us but your non-stop work ethic blew us away. Everyone we have talked to has commented about how hard you worked that day to make sure we had the perfect memories of our special day. We are so excited to see your photos!
Lots and lots of Love
