I met Nicole and Randy at Nicole’s house, and her backyard was so beautiful that I couldn’t help but start shooting right there before heading off to some great spots in Rochester. It always amazes me how much things can change and how fast they do change. As a student at R.I.T., I used to go and shoot with a bunch of friends in these run down buildings next to High Falls. The place was an awesome photographic location but it was kind of scary too because once inside you never knew who, or what you might encounter. Turns out that Randy asked Nicole to marry him right in that same area so I was excited to return to it and photograph there again. Well it is completely different these days. The shells of the buildings are still there but the whole place has been redeveloped. In fact I had to use my imagination to try and remember what it used to look like.
One thing I didn’t need my imagination for was to see how crazy in love these two are. We went to a bunch of different locations, and had a lot of fun hanging out and getting to know each other. I’m still in shock over how incredibly beautiful Nicole’s eyes are. I tried to do some cool treatments to them in photoshop, but anything I did was like messing with perfection. I already have a lot of ideas for her in her wedding dress, and you can bet that a bunch of them are going to include close-up views of those amazing eyes. I’m excited about working with her because I know we are going to do some fantastic images together.
Thank you Nicole, Randy, and your families for you patience and understanding. I hope that you enjoy the images for many years to come.
